Melissa Monroe-Young, APR
Northwest Vista College

Melissa works as a manager in the Marketing & Strategic Communications office at Northwest Vista College, and is an adjunct instructor there.

She was a journalist for 15 years, specializing in business reporting at the San Antonio Express-News and San Antonio Business Journal.

Her experience also includes freelance writing for Black Enterprise magazine and Partner at MediaWrite, which provides writing/editing and strategic marketing. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America and is also on the board of the PRSA San Antonio chapter, and the marketing advisory committee for Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas.

Melissa was a founding member of SAABJ and has been a longtime NABJ member.
